Viola Frymann was an American osteopathic physician who is known for her contributions to the field of pediatrics and the development of pediatric osteopathy. She was born in 1921 in New York and received her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1943.
Frymann had a strong interest in the treatment of children and worked extensively with young patients throughout her career. She developed a system of treatment known as “osteopathic pediatric evaluation and management,” or “OPEM,” which focuses on the use of osteopathic techniques to diagnose and treat children with a variety of conditions.
Frymann was also an advocate for the use of osteopathic treatment in pediatrics and worked to educate other osteopathic physicians about the benefits of this approach. She was the author of several books on pediatrics and osteopathy and served as the editor of the journal “The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association” for many years. Frymann passed away in 2010.
