Thai Massage Foundation 200hr Online Training
Our main focus throughout the course is the universal principles that make Thai Massage such a unique bodywork practice.
There is a person laying down in a large futon and we work on this person for two full hours. We offer our loving touch from the tip of the toes to the crown of the head. Our tools, our elbows, and knees, feet, sometimes even the sitting bones. And of course, we use our hands, transforming the way we touch the way we feel and sense the way we hold space.
And with time and practice, developing warmth, sensitivity and intelligence in our hands, gently and gradually opening up their heart and in the process opening up also our own heart.

We will walk you step by step through hundreds of exercises in every single part of the body, with our patient laying down in supine, in the side position, in the sitting position and in prone with theoretical and practical sessions, recaps and guided sequences.
This program is filled with practices that are crucial for the true understanding of Thai Massage, the teachings of the Buddha Buddhist philosophy and Vipassana meditation. The energetic system of the Thai Zen lines. This invisible network of personalities that provides and nourishes every cell of our body.

The path has been filled with Yoga, AcroYoga and soon enough Thai Massage showed up and stole my heart. For the last decade I have traveled around the globe sharing this art, inspired by teachers of the Sunshine Network. Laurino Bertelli, and his dedication to Vipassana meditation, the visionary OsteoThai founders David Lutt & Arno L’Hermitte, and the Sangha spirit, generosity and joy from Takis and Kerys at the Sunshine House Greece.
After graduating from a 5-year Osteopathy program at SICO (Switzerland), under the mentorship of Phillipe Druelle, the mission is crystal clear… to create a global platform, the Thai Massage Academy, and dive deep into this magical fusion between Thai Yoga Massage and Osteopathy.

TESTIMONIALS
Personally, I see it as quite advanced for beginners to start online, I would maybe recommend it for people who attended at least one course in person, but all in all, it's a really nice course that added a lot of input to my library and made me thrive to learn and question more.

This training itself is the BEST!. Not only do you get soo many materials such as videos and Theories but Pau as a mentor has a lot of experience and he gave you many techniques and knowledge.
The videos about anatomy are my fave! Pau sent the anatomy videos and all are great and the explanation was so clear. And the best part if we do the online training, is that you always be able to come back and watch the videos anytime. Even though some people asked me how weird was it to do The Thai Massage in the zoom, for myself it's like a blessing in disguise because I know it's quite hard and couldn't make it if it's not for online training.
Thank you so much for Pau, Wari, Sheryl, and all The Thai Massage Academy team!!

Seeing the videos repeatedly, playing mantras and meditation in the mornings as much as one need, tuning into the state of mind where healing and caring just happens naturally was very intense and introspective experience. The ongoing support of the team in zoom calls, the great energy of seeing others from the Sangha kept the motivation and interest to dig deeper. It requires a strong discipline though to keep the track and not to get overwhelmed by daily “urgent matters”.
I have not finished yet all the classes, but I keep repeating the moves from the videos I have already seen and trained. As I said, it is not a course with the start and the end. It is a journey with a clear start and unclear, live learning continuation, that can be enriched by new experience and mainly deepened by unceasing self-development. And that requires time and patience (and repetition – which will accessible on our screens forever)….thank you for all for making this happen.

I enjoyed the detail and quality of the course both in the way it was presented and the detailed instruction from Pau. The only thing that could possibly be improved would be to add more techniques, But maybe that would involve another course. 🙂

FAQs
Thai Massage has its roots in the northeast of India 2500 years ago. It all started in the times of Siddhartha Gautama, and century after century, Buddhist monks have preserved and developed this art in Buddhist monasteries.
Thai Massage is a meditation in motion; a holistic mindful dance that brings relaxation, joy, and happiness to both giver and receiver.
This is an exhaustive Thai Massage training in which you will get a complete overview with sequences covering the whole body: from the tip of the toes to the crown of the head. It will give you the possibility to offer a full, safe and amazing two-hour Thai Massage to your friends, family, and clients.
We go through the theory. We go through the practical. We guide you through each sequence. We go through the philosophy. We have included an introduction to Buddhist philosophy to help you really understand the roots of this art. We go through all the prayers and mantras that make this practice so unique. We really left no stone unturned, and made it our mission to package it visually and beautifully for you to enjoy and learn from the comfort of your own home.
This course is a journey from 0 to 100. We will walk you, take you by the hand, and class by class, video by video, you will learn the art of the traditional Thai Massage. This isa bodywork practice that we are used to learning in a presential enviorment. Because of that reason, it is better if you already have some massage experience, some sensitivity in your hands and some background of bodywork. The design of this course is for you to learn the basics, the fundamental principles of thai massage, to practice, to take all the theory, to absorb it, and step by step, make this art yours.
If you already have experience, this course can be a great addition. It has been our experience that students with a lot of practice in their hands, took this course, went deep, and reviewed the whole program. They value and they treasure this resource that they can access anytime.
The unlimited universe of anatomy is a big part of this 200-hour online course, and you need to know nothing about anatomy previously.
The first baby steps that you need as a therapist, the name of the bones, and the name of the muscles. And step by step, we walk you through the ankle, through the knee, through the iliac, through the sacrum, lumbar spine, thoracic spine, the rib cage and the sternum, the clavicles, the cervical spine, the upper extremity, shoulder, elbow, hand, the head and the cranial bones, the bones of the face.
We will reveal basic concepts that we need to know as therapists, such as:
How does the thoracic diaphragm, the main muscle of respiration, work?
What is the mechanics of gait and how does the pelvis move as we walk?
We will learn about the physiology of our digestive system and the main usefull information about all vital organs. We will also help you understand the main red flags so that we know who to treat and who not to treat. Sometimes it is just better to send our patient to the doctor or a more experienced therapist.
If you know nothing of anatomy, this will be a great discovery. And if you have some knowledge, give me the chance to open the doors, inspire you and motivate you to keep studying the beauty and the unlimited wonders of Human Anatomy.
This course is designed for you to learn alone in the comfort of your own home, in your living room. You can watch the theory. You can watch the classes, you can let it sink in. And then you need to practice. Who are you going to choose? You’re going to choose your partner, your friend, some family members, maybe you choose some other practitioners that are in your hometown.
And you will need to do those sessions several times to really absorve the knowledge, the wisdom, and develop intelligence in your hands. You need to have bodies to practice. I always recommend that you find healthy, happy young bodies because it’s easier for us to learn in the beginning. And believe me, you’re going to make them very, very happy. As soon as you give them one time, they’re going to want to receive more.
This is a 200-hour online course, and it is not something that you can do overnight or that you can get rid of in a week. It’s going to take an average of three months for you to complete this course. Now, if you do it with the support of the Zoom calls and with a group all together, it’s going to be between three and four months. If you choose to do the course at your own pace, then It’s really up to you. My recommendation would be a minimum of three months.
Something between three and six months is going to be the right amount of time for you to complete this course and absorve everything in the best way.
It’s a complete package of 108 sessions divided into seven different modules.
This course includes anatomy classes. It includes theoretical aspects and the universal principles of Thai Massage. It also includes prayers and mantras. We’ve packaged all the practical sequences from the tip of the toes to the crown of the head.
Yes, this course includes a chunky, heavy manual. You will get a download link, It’s a PDF document that my recommendation is that you download and print in full color. The manual is great support for you to learn as you watch the classes, as you sink into the videos, as you dive deep. You have a book in front of you and this is great support for you to follow both the theoretical aspects and the practical, and also all the anatomy slides that are included.
You have access for life. Even if we keep improving the course, changing classes, and upgrading it in the future, you will always have access. You will always be part of the Thai Massage Academy family.
In this 200-hour course, we have the inevitable intrusion of Osteopathy. This is both an art and a science. It comes from the United States back in the late 1800s, and it was founded and developed by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still D.O.
Still was a doctor and a visionary and he developed a way to treat his patients that was not focused on the symptoms. It was focused on the primary lesion.
The last thing that we want is that a tight financial situation is going to prevent you from accessing this course and jumping on board and developing your bodywork skills. So yes, if you need to split the payment up to 4 installments, this is a possibility. And if you need more installments, just shoot us an email and we’ll figure it out.

ZOOMING INTO THE DIAPHRAGM
The Diaphragm is the throne for the heart and the lungs to sit on. it is also the umbrella for the Liver, Stomach, Spleen and other vital organs to hide under it. And it plays a crucial role in functions such as coughing, laughing, peeing, pooping, and of course… Breathing.
